We have been waiting for this announcement for a long time: we had a sneak peak of NBA 2K21 next-gen gameplay. As a reminder, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game have been developed from scratch. The Visual Concepts development team promises a unique and fresh experience even for people who played the current generation version of the game. Let us see if they kept their promise. The next-gen version of NBA 2K21 will benefit from the raw power of the next-gen consoles to provide a better experience to the users. The game will also benefit from all the improvements and updates made to the current generation version of the game. Concerning the gameplay, the Pro Stick shooting system will be enhanced with new features. When using the Pro Stick aiming feature on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S you will be able to control the arc of the shot. Flicking the stick at various speeds will give you different results. You will also be able to perform bank shots with a fast flick of the stick or by aiming in the direction of the backboard. The Shot Meter feature will also change on next-gen consoles. The new shot meter is clearer and more “readable”. The shot meter will now have an arrowhead that will make aiming easier and the color will be blue. The size of the meter will change according to different factors such as the skill of the shooter, the difficulty of the shot and the difficulty of the defense. Other visual effects will make the shot meter more useful. The next-gen version of NBA 2K 21 will also benefit of better lay-ups. Visual Concepts will disable the lay-up timing on the shot button by default. The lay-up timing and aiming meters will be redesigned in order to give more control to the users. The Pro Stick will allow you to choose exactly where you want to finish your move. Key players will now have more signature moves that will make them closer to their real-life counterparts.On the next-gen, 3 point shots will have a better animation and feel more natural. Dribbling and passing will also receive improvements that will allow them to be more realistic and fun to use.
